Cheap Laptop ..

Featured Replies

I am considering getting a cheap, but usable laptop with cd drive, and internet use, small in size for about 5,000 baht if possible. Any ideas on where to look, or if it's possible at pantip or some place?

5k may be pushing it a bit but, in order of (my) preference try:-

1. Zeer Rangsit - well out of town, but a superb selection of used equipment.

2. Fortune Town - Easy to get to, reasonable selection (top floor).

3. Pantip - My least favourite place to go IT shopping, to much hassle.

If you're in central BKK try Fortune first.

Try a shop called "Jinan" in Fortune and Zeer Rangsit. They specialize in used computers, both desktop and notebook.

I think you're pushing your luck a bit at 5K I saw a load of 2nd hand m/cs in Pantip a few months ago, but none of them was that cheap. Also the ones on sale had very limited memory, and I would assume they would only be used for word processing. Many of the sites on the web these days require a fair bit of memory/processing speed ( I'm not an expert!), and certainly you would have problems accessing banking sites etc. Suggest you consult with someone, (or await further advice on this thread) on minimum memory/processing power before buying or it may end up being a waste of money. :o
