Question can a farang buy a motor bike in his name and register in his name or has it got to be in a thai name?

Yes you need a letter of residence from immigration though,I just put mine in the wifes name though seems less hassle and again less hassle when or if you sell it.

Unless you split up with the wife of course.

@Billposter: Depends on what kind of visa you have. Most, if not all DLTs, wouldn't except a tourist visa. If you have one, a work permit is all you need.(and passport of course) Then you wouldn't need any letter.

Yes you can...have bought bikes and pick-up and have been registered in my name...work permit not required...I've only ever had a non-O
