After an interval of a few years, I have taken up golf again. I now find that there are very few practice facilities compared with a few years ago. Where are the good driving ranges now?

Harold's in Jomtien shut....I used the Golf Acadamy next to the Indoor Stadium on Chayapruek 2 until recently. The balls are poor and its like hitting stones. Nice putting green.

Went to Greenway and the balls were much better but the mats have seen better days.

Diana I think is better but a bit out of the way for me.

the one on 3rd road is too near 3rd road always seemed too dusty and noisy for me.

There is a new driving range that has just opened off Sukhumvit soi 89, across from Makro. Great facilities.

It's called Pattaya Long Drive Range.

I am not sure Pride driving range is still open. I regularly drive from Klang to Nua on 3rd road, and I used to subconsciously notice the netting on the range. Recently i have not noticed it, although this might be me not being very observant.

Thanks for that. I was ther tonight and it is very good. New-ish balls and good facilities.

Word of warning. Although is on the Soi opposite Makro, it is about 2 miles up the road, right at the top of the hill.

"Pattaya Long Drive range" is an interesting development for that piece of land, which is a huge piece and land and would be worth a fortune if it didn't have such a dubious history! about 20+ years ago the top soil was sold off, trucked away to be used as land fill.

Then the land was left, around 10 years ago it opened up as a rubbish tip/dump and was used for this purpose for quite a few years. The rubbish dump was closed down not that long ago. The driving range was built just recently opened, which looks to be great, havn't had a chance to try it yet.

The question is what will be there in 10 more years?
