In spite of the new owner living in a different province and not being present, all the forms had been duly completed and were in order.

What I was so surprised to learn was that the insurance of the car, compulsory Government (CMI or Por Ror Bor) and First Class, was actually with the vehicle itself and not with the registered keeper.

To get the new First Class insurance renewal to coincide with the renewal of the existing Government insurance, I couldn't believe my luck that it was possible to extend the Government insurance up to the date of the next First Class renewal.

As the car was over ten years old, the best policy I could find was Axa SmartDrive 5 (2+1) including fire and theft.

Finally if there's more than six months left on the old First Class policy, one is eligible for a refund.
