Sorry to tell you (no offence) you closed your post not telling about your son condition, I suppose if you intended to ask the driver to take your son to hospital it was for a good reason!

You are a great story teller ... thanks for sharing.

You must be quite the athlete to outrun 10 Thais.

Assuming that you are bigger then your son ... how did the van hit him and not yourself?

One thing I don't understand ... just when the the 'lady who spoke good English relay the story ... as the Thais where fighting with you ... did she exit the van?

Edited to add that she (the English speaking woman) must have been very brave to exit the van at nighttime to speak to a Falang. Gold medal to her.

Was it one of those white vans /minibuses which picks up passengers and drops them off at various locations. Strange that they acted in unison against you?

Were all the 10 Thais men? If it wasn't a mini van collecting passengers, maybe it was a company vehicle and there was some distinctive sign writing?

Did you get time to notice the license plate number?

So much information for the police. Have you reported the incident?

How is your son ... no serious damage I trust?

What age is your son, was he old enough to walk unassisted without running/walking in the road?

Shouldn't he have been walking in front of you, where you could watch him?

Shouldn't he have been walking in front of you... He should have been walking in front of you

What did the police say, or were you not outraged enough to report it. Jim

a bit of respect mate

Often read some of these stories, first post, martial arts fighter, 10 guys, knife, really. [Couldn't hold my sons hand, is it was too narrow] but wide enough for a big van with 10 guys in it to drive down. Jim

Out of curiosity, what country do you come from, op? Or area? ie Europe, the States, Aus...and why the delay in posting if the incident happened on 29/12/12.........could you possibly be from a cave in Norway?

You did very well to catch up with a van in 500metres, were you in the Olympics ?

Hope your son has no lasting damage should this have actually happened.

sorry 28/12/12

Where was the "safe place" that you put your son.

You left your son, who had just been hit by a van, so that you could go 500m to argue with a van full with Thai people.

What did your son do when you ran away ?

As a professional investigator for 20 years I will tell you the parts of the story that render it suspect ....... No one who is concerned for the safety of their child in a situation like that....... and I can assure you there are dozens of similar situatiuons this applys to ...... would be walking in front of their child looking backwards , it's simply not how people behave for more than 5 or 10 steps before they realise walking behind them is easier and safer. What people do is walk behind them and use their arm to keep them where they want.

That doesnt mean people never let their kids walk behind them , what it means is that when trying to keep someone safe, as you claim you were doing, they make them walk in front where they can both see them and use their arm to guide them.

As an investagator that tells me you are exagurating part of the story , at least the part where you claim that you were so concerned and kept looking backwards ...... it's simply not how concerned people bahave.

The next part of your story that indicated deception is that you use two different termonologys for the same person other than "he" as the second one, which would be common ....... You use "the guy who just hit and run" and then you say "driver" the reason that indicates deception is that people telling truthfull accounts would say ..... the person who hit and run and then since already identified say and then "he" or they would say the driver and then he ..... People who are unclear as to the facts or just plain lying will re identify the same people in their story with different termonology because when you make things up as you go along or you are unclear as to the facts people re identify the subjects of the story as they go along , often more than 2 or 3 times even and almost always the description becomes more and more specfic. As is the case with you, as driver is more specfic than the guy who hit and run , however a truthfull person would have called the driver the driver from the beginning and then said he or continued with the driver.

Ok now we get to the running 500M and knowing ju jitsu in order to fend off 10 people with Ju Jitsu you need to know enough to spell it correctly it's Ju Jitsu not Ju jit su , some might say a small point and for a person who was a white belt I would say sure , but for a man claiming to know Ju Jitsu and be able to fend off 10 people after running 500M it becomes another indication of deception , no one who would claim to know enough Ju Jitsu to take on 10 people would mispell it in their story, and the layout of a keyboard renders a typo absurd on two fronts.

In case anyone cares another commonality in falsehood stories are the numbers 10 and 3 followed by 5 ......... small stories 3 , big lies 10 and possibly true but exagurated stories 5

The last thing I would question is why a Jungle knife , why would I question that ? Because most people giving true descriptions of knives guns or other things describle them big , shiney , small , black , ect ..... people making up things use terms that they think make them sound scary and then you need to ask them , was it big , shiney , black , ect. People telling the truth the opposite, they will decribe the scary aspects of the item rather than give the item a scary name and not decribe the particulars of it. A more truthfull sounding explanation would have been a knife or a big knife but when you get to the it was a military knife or jungle knife or 357 magnum it's a red flag , most people would say it was a revolver if telling the truth, then add and maybe a 357.

So is the story true ? Maybe, but I can tell you that their were not 10 people , you were not as concerned as you say you were , and you didn't chase a van 500m and you don't know as much Ju Jitsu as you would like me to believe, and if a knife was involved it was not a large knife. I can also tell you that you are not sure if the person you accuse of being the one who hit your child and swinging on you first was the driver or not and you are not sure if the person who pulled the knife was the driver or not , what I can tell you is you are really pissed off at whoever the driver was and want him blamed for e\verything possible true or not , even if the entire story is false.

I guess I should also point out that the part of the story that shows you want the driver blamed for things you are not entirely sure he did would indiacte the story is at least partially true.

The biggest troll clue, to me anyway, is why would someone create an account on an internet forum to tell this story?

Even if that were true - I imagine he would be asking for input/advice of some kind.

Had my own child been subject to this, I am sure I would have other concerns on my mind - none of them would be ' I must create a Thai Visa account and tell people about My JJ skills ! '

Must have been a van borrowed from the Benny Hill collection. 10 guys that came pouring out. Unless these were midgets?

It was a very thin double decker van......

Would chance to say we come from similar back grounds, I just don't type that well. Jim

No idea, but, "To way back home we had to walk through 50 m long narrow road." and " I started running back behind the white van. Within 500 m of distance, I could catch up the white van." should give you a hint. tongue.png

James,i suppose when my job gets privatised by your ex mob ,i can call myself a security guard rather than my current occupational title ,since thats all they really are, on 15 dollars an hour and lose all my penalty rates.

I started running back behind the white van. Within 500 m of distance, I could catch up the white van. There were a bunch of people on that van and I yelled at the driver that he just hit my son. My intention was purely making him to aware of what he had done and take my son to hospital on his van. But instead of reaction, I expected from guy who just hit and run, he came out starting to swinging his fists at me. I used to be muay thai and ju jit su fighter so I had no problem stopping him

Sounds like we have a SupermanTroll on the forum

Great post, and interesting. I would question only the description for some people. If he really knew his knives, and exactly what it was, I believe he'd call it. I feel the same way about a gun. I think you're spot on for most people, but point a gun at me and most of the time it would burn into my brain and I'd know exactly what it was, and that would be my description to myself and to you. At the very least I'd tell you he pointed a Glock handgun at me and if it was green I'd say he pointed a green Glock handgun at me. I wouldn't miss that part. I'd be shocked if I didn't at least ID the brand. What it was would be on the tip of my tongue and that's what you'd hear first. That's how I would be thinking of it myself, in my mind.

Again, very informative post, much appreciated. I always like to learn things.
