Prescription reading glasses in Pattaya
Easier said that done. IF you can get a prescription, then Zenni is definitely a good way to go. Getting an Rx from a Thai optician can be a PITA though. https://www.zennioptical.com/ -

Trump threatens China with additional 50% tariff if Beijing doesn’t scrap its retaliation
Wake up! It's the 21st century.China leads the world in lots of technologies. "China’s global lead extends to 37 out of 44 technologies that ASPI is now tracking, covering a range of crucial technology fields spanning defence, space, robotics, energy, the environment, biotechnology, artificial intelligence (AI), advanced materials and key quantum technology areas.1 The Critical Technology Tracker shows that, for some technologies, all of the world’s top 10 leading research institutions are based in China and are collectively generating nine times more high-impact research papers than the second-ranked country (most often the US). Notably, the Chinese Academy of Sciences ranks highly (and often first or second) across many of the 44 technologies included in the Critical Technology Tracker." https://www.aspi.org.au/report/critical-technology-tracker -

Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) system is online (but not announced as starting yet)
The only relationship to the TDAC issues is that I cannot see any videos at the bottom of their page, just black retangles with text about logging in and safety of community issues. Based on responses to my issue, the particular videos I cannot see, may be random videos and are not TDAC related. The side issue to that is, what if there are official, government videos, related to the thread (any thread), on a Thai Government website, that I cannot see that are pertinent to any aseannow thread? -

Prescription reading glasses in Pattaya
You don't need to go to a ophthalmologist (eye doctor) in order to get a standard refraction for a pair of reading glasses. However, if the OP is older, and has never had an eye workup by a doctor, it's not a bad idea to get checked for things like glaucoma and retina issues. But if he isn't having any other issues other than problems reading, an ophthalmologist is sorta over-kill and they don't normally do refraction, although some hospitals will. They'll dilate your eyes and check for structural issue. For a pair of glasses he at most needs a optometrist (a person who measures eye refraction and prescribes glasses), and in Thailand optometrists generally work in a partnership with an optician. OP - on oddity about Thailand though. They probably will not give you your refraction and instead will insist on making your glasses. If you want a refraction and then order your glasses online, have it done in the US. Less of a hassle.
