Hello...

I am considering contracting TrueMove H 3G service in CM. I was wondering how fast it is here in general and also how often it goes down.

I have been told TrueMove H 3G has the best coverage in Thailand but am not sure how it compares in speed and reliability to DTAC in Chiang Mai.

it has been great for us... wife uses it on her Tab when away from the house and it rarely has been down... had it since it first came out and no complaints at all

Depends very much on area but speeds are adequate, imho, and DTAC vs True is a bit "six of one half dozen of the other". True-H (CAT) does seem to have better coverage than DTAC in rural areas.

If you can - I know it's a pain because CAT still don't do prepaid - get a CAT chip rather than a True-H chip. True-H have reduced their FUP speed (the speed you're reduced to once you blow your xxGB allowance) to 128kbps while CAT are still 384kbps. I used to use True-H but switched to CAT for that reason.
