Case investigated and solved. Frenchman murdered inside his View Talay 2 Condo.

Police Major Satien from Dongtan Police Sub-station in Jomtien was called to the View Talay 2 Condo Complex Building B on Saturday afternoon after the discovery of a badly decomposed body of a foreign man inside one of the condos. The alarm was raised by Mr. Edward Portman from England who was friends with the deceased man; Mr. Philippe Maria Louis Sabatier aged 64 from France who had not been seen for more than one week. He went to his friends 4th Floor condo and found the front door was unlocked and then made the gruesome discovery.

According to forensic doctors, the body had remained undiscovered for at least one week which is consistent with Mr. Portman’s account and the man had sustained a head injury and electric cable was found around his neck.

The complex’s CCTV pictures were examined and at 5.10pm on 15th February, the victim, a practicing homosexual, was seen walking to his condo with two Thai men. Approximately 45 minutes later, the two Thai men left and appeared hurried as they ran down the corridor to the elevators.

The two were the prime suspects in the murder case and at this point, Pattaya’s Tourist Police joined the investigation and less than 24 hours later the two men were caught. They were identified as Khun Wichien aged 25 and Khun Vee aged 17 who sell sexual services on Pattaya Beach. They were located by Police Lieutenant Colonel Wootishart and his team and were taken back to the Tourist Police Station where they confessed to the murder.

Khun Vee mentioned that his mother was suffering from the latter stages of AIDS and money was urgently required for the continuation of her medical care. Khun Vee continued by saying that the pair stole a Sony Digital Camera, Mobile Phone and mini VCD player which had a combined value of 8,000 Baht.

The two were transferred to Pattaya Polcie Station where they were formally charged with 1st Degree Murder which could see them locked up for many years to come, if convicted of the crimes committed.

R.I.P. for the frenchman, as for the killers...their reason it's rather hilarious or at least pathetic, that's what makes this story a little fishy...I think they just covered something and maybe they needed a guilty one due to the resent visit of the french officials, you can't afford having an unresolved murder case after a visit like this...just thinking

killed for 8,000 baht. :o

Yeah, can you believe that? And even though, how much time of your life you can buy with 8,000 baht when you are suffering of AIDS and you're in the last stage? I'm telling you guys, something is really fish about this tale...and as always, we'll never find out what

The fact that the suspects were being recorded on CCTV probably never crossed their minds, and the police must have been rubbing their hands with glee when they saw the footage. The CCTV system in this building has only been up and running for about 3 weeks, and, because the actual units are not in the form of obvious CCTV cameras, (the ones that look rather like a video camera), then, to the casual visitor it perhaps isn't immediately obvious what they are.

I hope that this sorry episode will serve as a warning to anyone planning to put a foot wrong in View Talay 2B and get away with it. You are being watched, and a similar CCTV system is to be installed in Building 2A very soon.

Fishy? Even though they were 'captured' on CCTV?

Precisely.

PCN ran the CCTV footage on Sophon Cable today, showing them arriving at the condo and later leaving.

Nothing 'fishy' whatsoever about them being caught so quickly.

the victim, a practicing homosexual,

does this mean he was learning??

Yes,

And he made the worst mistake he could do; in the manual "How to be gay", right on page one, is written: Never take untrustworthy people to your own place!

I think that line could well be on page 1 of the manual "How to be heterosexual" also :o

So true! :D

Although, generally speaking, men tend to be a lot stronger than women, particularly women who weigh around 40 kgs. And two men are more of a danger than one.
