Currently on a one year retirement visa. This is the first time that I have stayed in the country over 90 days. I have the form for reporting my address. Can I fax it to immigration in Mai Sai where I have been getting my yearly visa? Or can I send it via mail. If so does anyone have the address. My 90 days is tomorrow. Thanks in advance for help.

This should cover it dman http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/base.php?page=90days

You have +/- 7 days of the required date to report. Not sure about the faxing thing, but I doubt it. A personal visit or mail seems to be the only way.

Be careful and do make the effort to go to the office and do the address report. You are already too late for mail.

I got tapped for 2000 baht for five days at Bueng Kan, they dug deep into a huge book to find justification for chaging me 400 baht a day. Do not depend on the + or - 7 days you read about.

My advice is to get in the car and do it that way this time. Mail can be done by completing the form enclosing it in an envelope with the notice attached to your passport for due date, a stamped self addressed envelope for return of the form to you so you can then staple it to your passport. You do not have adequate time to do it that way this time.

Good luck and have a nice trip.

You are too late for mail as the requirement is that it be sent by registered mail seven days prior to due date. You need to have the report made to an immigration office. If you are more than seven days late you will be fined 2,000 baht. There is no such thing as a daily fine for 90 day reports. But the max fine could be 5,000 baht under present laws.

For Wash: Official policy is plus/minus 7 days allowed for 90 day reports. And that is set in writing per

The notification must be made within 7 days before or after the period of 90 days expires.
at Thai Immigration

But it sounds as if that post does not do many 90 day reports.

Many Thanks------ Loburi3, Thai Chi, Wash for your advice.

I drove to Mai Sai Immigration today, brought my two year old son with me. (sympathy factor) Turns out it was my 92nd consecutive day. No problems, they processed the form and gave me the receipt.

This may be new or paricular to Mai Sai but stapled to the TM.47 receipt was a

NOTICE. Any alien who fails to comply with will be punished with a fine not exceeding 5,000 Baht and with an additional fine not exceeding 200. Baht for each day which passes until the law is complied with ACCORDING TO IMMIGRATION ACT B.E.2522 SECTION 76

Very intresting dman. I got the same notice put in my passport just over 3 months ago from the Korat immigration office. This week when reporting my 90 days, I didnt get it :o Just the bottom part of the TM47 (receipt section)

As an aside, an acquaintance of mine, when doing his 90 day report by post, sends the required documentation to the Kap Chung immigration office, not Bangkok???? :D I thought that all posted 90 day reporting was suppose to go to Bangkok. We live and learn eh!

Mumbo Jumbo, at this point in time, NO. I attended there on the 1st of this month for my 90 day report (as stated) I dealt with the same immigration officer as previously reported some months ago (english speaking, nice guy, very intrested in providing full service) They have had an increase in staff, and a shitload of new computer gear installed in the office. But still they are unable to process extensions at this stage. :o I would like to think its just a matter of time before Korat comes online. In the meantime, for Issanites, why not try Kap Chung Immigration :D

Quick point of information for those doing 90 day reporting by mail ...

I believe they want you to sign each copied page of your passport somewhere at the bottom.

And do not forget the return self addressed stamped envelope.

This advice is contrary to the Immigration requirements and I would suggest that you not visit any other office of Immigration than the one that you are now using. Big time fine ahead for you if you go to any office that knows what the policy is and that would include most all of the offices.
