Popular Post Buchholz
So I presume this means that no random inspections are or had been carried out? So much for the promised "transparency" for the scheme. That's a hallmark of a Thaksin crop subsidy program. 2005-03-06 The government had allocated four billion baht for the subsidy programme to buy fresh longan from growers to be processed into dried longan. About 300,000 tonnes of fresh longan were to be processed into 90,000 tonnes of dried fruit. It was found later that 50,000 tonnes went missing 2009-06-10 Worthless stocks of dried longan left over from a scandal-tainted mortgage scheme initiated by the Thaksin government will be destroyed at a cost of 90 million baht. the old stocks were so degraded they could not even be used to make fertiliser 2012-06-21 The government has earmarked Bt4.2 billion under the guise of loan repayment in order to cover up the mismanagement of price intervention for longan under the Thaksin Shinawatra administration in 2004. the mismanagement happened after the Thaksin administration had allocated Bt3.4 billion to prop up the price for 312,373 tons of longan for nothern farmers. Under the price intervention scheme, the administration would back the Krung Thai Bank loans to the Marketing Organisation for Farmers. But the fruit processing could turn out only about 40,000 tons of dried longan, an insufficient amount to repay the loans. The allocation of additional funds would enable the MOF to repay the bank loans without having to check the amount of longan involved in the price intervention scheme
Dap
sprayed with insecticide until distributed to buyers I suspect there would be those who would say rice, that is milled rice, sprayed with insectside was no longer fit for human comsumtion. Consider would you like to eat it? How can a pile of sacks of rice be sprayed? Surely they must fumigate with gas not spray? That might seem a bit too sophisticated and ... waaay toooo expensive for the LOS, but hey, is just rice, right?
bigbamboo
With the way he's destroying the reputation of Thai rice if it wasn't for the fact that Thaksin says he loves Thailand so much you'd think he was still working for the Cambodians. Pimay1
sprayed with insecticide until distributed to buyers I suspect there would be those who would say rice, that is milled rice, sprayed with insectside was no longer fit for human comsumtion. Consider would you like to eat it? Kinda like up here in Esaan with watermelons. They shoot them up with red dye before taking them to the market. You serious? I'm serious as a heart attack. Like the chicken houses down in Chonburi, they shoot up the chickens every night with steroids thousands die each day. Some of the street vendors come every day to buy the dead chickens, cook them and sell them on the street. I know this is true because the guy and his wife who works for me used to work in the chicken houses. It was their job to give shots to the chickens every night. Consider would you like to eat it? Sorry to burst your bubble Robby, but everything gown above sea level in Thailand is bathed in chemicals right up to the point of you buying it. and the fish from fish farms are fed food that was sprayed up to the eye balls whilst growing so the residue will be passed to the fish. Were all doomed. Edited February 15, 2013 by marstons
stoli
I would suspect that a lot of warehouses, when checked, will now be found empty.
