And here are a few more trees....apparently not at the optimum for blooms, but I was happy with the assortment of textures and colours!

On Doi Angkang

These trees are obviously not camera shy....leaf me off!!

In hindsight the tree should have been pruned and shaped as it grew but what can you do now except wait for the fruit up the top to ripen and yellow and wait for them to fall . No green mangos from the top of this tree.

History of the Tree.It was planted along with many others over 50 Years Ago. It was the most prolific and no one dare touch it. Its in its final years and will be left to die naturally Thai Style. Rather Sad Realy, bit like us Old Uns. We thought we were Immortal bout the time that Tree was Planted.

Lots of those small fruiting Mangoes around me, the old biddies next door pick a few of the them, but most just fall to the ground, and rot, regardless of the tree size...

I tasted one a few days ago, has the Mango taste but more bitter than the larger ones!

The larger types get bagged!

Hi SJ it looks like a plant that the Probiscus monkeys can eat in Borneo. They have a special stomach acid that counteracts the poison and have very bloated looking bellies to digest the fruit. They would die if fed bananas or other "monkey food" as they could not digest it.. Saw them on a river cruise in Kota Kinabalu but did not get any good shots :)

SJ... I have no idea of the name & neither does the missus, however...

Yes the fruits are poisonous so don't eat em plus if you have a rat &

snake problem around your house place a few of the fruits on the ground

on each side and the critters won't bother you anymore...so the missus

says. I believe her too....I have heard about this in Indonesia & Malaysia.

Also near the mon & pop shops not far from us on the road they have a

huge tree smack in front...I'm going there later today to resupply the

Sing quantity & I'll grab a pic...the trees in your pic are young...you'll

see the difference!

NB...edit to correct digititis obesenia.
