Recently someone told that there would a prohibition of visiting Chiang Mai by tourists: tourists must not stay in Chiang Mai (city and province as well) over than 2 weeks. And something similar about Pai.

It seemed far-fetched. Was that true? If it was, do you have a link for it?

I believe this is a promotion "to get a rise" in interest for going to Pattaya to get another appendage pulled

Judging by a previous comment of his.....you could be right. biggrin.png

I on the other hand have some prime property in San Fransisco with a bridge spanning the bay already built on it. I can let it go cheap as I have made my millions off of it and no longer need the money or the hassle of trying not to pay tax on it.

I also have some prime property in Arizona and Florida.

OK Winnie, I have a question......

I have some friends coming into Thailand by Yacht from Singapore, do they get 30 days or 15 days? They are planning on 30 days in-country prior to heading on to Hong Kong. If 15 days they will anchor at Koh Chang then slip into Cambodia then back into Thailand for another 15 days. If 30 days they would anchor closer to Chonburi.

As I said early, I've always gotten 30-days stamp however I did that.

No clue about that.. Maybe ask on the Pattaya (or Phuket) forum.. Or get a tourist visa and be sure of getting 60 days regardless of how you enter.

Loi Kroh road is about all there is. What else was leveled and planted with trees about 3 years ago and renamed, nowhere else.

There's a great Visa forum at the top of the list of the various boards for ThaiVisa.com That's the best place to ask your visa questions. I know they've covered entry into Thailand via yacht, but I didn't pay attention to the answer since it's unlikely I'll ever sit foot on a yacht in Chiang Mai.

Also, maybe they can convince Maramook that in recent years, the visa exempt period has indeed been 15-days if entering by land and 30 days if entering by air.
