PATTAYA:--On Friday at the Cholchan Resort in the Northern Outskirts of Pattaya a meeting was held by the Energy Regulatory Commission led by its Chairman, Dr. Direk, who assured Pattaya residents that they will not be affected by the power supply problems in April when maintenance will be taking place at gas fields in Burma.

Between 5th and 14th April Gas supplies from Burma into Thailand will temporarily cease to allow for essential maintenance. Burma supplies around one quarter of Thailand’s natural gas and power reserves are expected to be reduced to critical levels.

Dr. Direk has assured Pattaya residents that the power supply issues will not affect Pattaya and the rest of Chonburi Province and other Eastern provinces
