Stuck In Bkk On Makha Bucha Day

Featured Replies

Hi TVers,

Due to flight schedule I'll be stuck in bkk on monday. I'm not sure what to do and if activities and daytrips will be operating due to the holiday. I'm thirty, dont drink, and have no interest in paid affection.

Any suggestion for a pleasant or interesting activity available on that day?

Maybe I should add that I speak thai so going out of usual tourist zones is not a problem.

Thanks guys for your help.

so whats your pwobwem then? its a holiday-so much less traffic. You do NOT drink- great, fine- thats the major block for all these TV-regulars as they find the greatest hell in BKK seems to be not able to buy beer- and many of the girlie bars may even be closed too.

So go out-explore those parts of BKk you have never been, Surprises are behind any corner. friendly people too-not so much jaded by angry, impolite, stinky and foul-mouthed farang-tourists. Board any free red bus and see where it ends, read bangkokdaytrips for ideas, just put a needle with blind eye in a big map and go.......

the idea that all ''things'' are closed is utter nonsense- schools and public ofices are.

Visit a temple.

Maybe posing the question to Mr google would get a better response

Go shopping? Eat nice foods? Walk around and take the whole city in? Visit a Temple? Go on a boat... Check yourself into a nice hotel, enjoy the holiday?

Sit on Thaivisa and complain?! coffee1.gif
