WhiteCadillac
What are the best new cars with LPG/CNG system and (automatic gears)? I only know of Altis CNG in the market. Have heard of others, but cant remember which brands offer LPG/CNG. If you could choose freely, would you pick CNG or LPG?
arthurwait
See the thread probably still on the first page of the motor forum about lpg supposedly meant to be being phased out in Thailand which maybe of some help.
IMHO
As noted in other threads, LPG is not promoted by the Thai government as an alternative fuel, so most manufacturers are supporting CNG (NGV) CNG: Mitsubishi Triton CNG - 498K - 810K Tata Xenon - 564-569K Toyota Hilux CNG - 622-724K Chevrolet Aveo CNG - 635K Honda City CNG - 659-706K Toyota Altis CNG - 859K LPG: DFM Truck: 289-339K DFM Van: 359-399K That list gets a lot shorter if AT is req'd.... keemapoot
Of course, hardly mainstream, but there is also the Benz E-class E200 NGT. Though, I suppose the CDI continues to be a better choice due to the limited range on NGV?
ignis
Not sure if still For Sale in 2013, they were in 2012.. Proton Persona NGV Medium Line Auto 599,000 Top model High Line 649.000 Mitsubishi Lancer NGV Auto [CVT] 692,000 Find it a bit odd Chevy Optra had lots of models, yet the replacement the Cruze has non ? Believe you can get a after-market kit fitted to most cars to convert to CNG/NGV

ignis
You cant buy a new Hilux cng with automatic gears - probably not Mitsu either. Don't think you can even buy a Petrol automatic New Vigo or the 2013 Triton........ all petrol appear to be manual + some with CNG
VocalNeal
If you live next to an NGV station, do short trips and understand that the range is in the order of 180kms per tank then go ahead. Somewhere on here is a comment from a resort owner in Pattaya who has a NGV mini van for airport pickups who cannot do the round trip from/to Pattaya without filling up. LPG historically is used here for cooking so is subsidized, since the use for vehicle fuel gradually the subsidy will be eliminated but it may still end up being cheaper than other fuels just as it is everywhere else in the world. Will it be "phased" out? Ask World Gas they are the distributor of most of the vehicle LPG along with maybe Siam Gas, rather than relying on rumors. WhiteCadillac
LPG has many more cons than NGV even if the prices go up somewhat.
