playing on my current old PC more then a decade, would like to play any new game that i've missed from couple of years ago to next gen that will come.

Just been reading about new Assassins creed 4 black flag,gta5,battlefield 3 which maybe would come this year.Games looks awesome.

I went to Pantip and several others ,everywhere has very wide selection of prebuilt PC-s,but i dont understand really much about hardware.

The best i could find and that i think its good is -

Intel? Core? i7-3770K Processor, 3.4GHz 8MB 77W CPU 8 MB L3 Cache

Intel? Z75 PCH Chipset

6GB DDR3 RAM 10600 MHz FSB with expandable up to 8GB

NVIDIA? GeForce? GT 630 graphics card with 3GB DDR3, DVI (VGA via Dongle) and HDMI capabilities

1TB SATA-3G HDD at 7200RPM

DVD?RW/?R SuperMulti Drive with Lightscribe Technology, Double Layer (8.5GB)

10/100/1000 (Gigabit) LAN, HP WLAN 2x2 DB MCard BT NIC

15-in-1 Card Reader

HP USB Wired w/ Vol Ctrl keyboard, Optical mouse

High Definition Audio 5.1 Surround Sound

what do you guys think, any suggestions?will probably pick it up 3-4 days later. Also price of that is 42,699฿(maybe i can down to 42K hehe)

I wouldn't recommend that computer. I think you can find something much better for around 40.000 baht. The biggest problem is the gfx card, it just dosen't hold up

against other cards on the market now. I would also suggest that you aim at something with at least 8 gb ram, as thats what Ps4 and probably the new Xbox will have.

Otherwise most looks ok, but perhaps aiming at a bluray reader is a good planning for future as games will be bigger and the time of dvd is coming to an end in the coming years.

In short everything looks ok except I would say get at least 8 gb ram, a better gfx card and bluray reader if you can. Look at the ps4 spec, and google on gaming computers around

40.000-45.000 baht for further help.

An absolutely brilliant website for building pcs and what budget you got.

I'll mention that no game requires more than 4gb ddram 3 yet, so a 2 pack 1600mhz 4g is enough to save for a nice (ssd drive) in tHAILAND your best bet for a solid state drive is an intel for sure. that'll make your os (win 7 professional I suggest) run super quick and any game load like nothing youve ever seen. hd radeon cards are great but check on tomshardware for great comparisons.

if you want to build a pc and check prices use www.jib.co.th their prices are very reasonable for Thailand but are a few months behind compared to the us or uk.

Please tell me where did you get that spec list for that price? i so can avoid that shopwai.gif

is there any reason why you want to go with pre-built PC? The best thing you can do is choose part yourself(they can install everything for you if u cant)

Frankly this build that you choose is worth less then 20000baht.GPU is terrible, not even a gaming gpu

3770k is only for video editing etc,it can be overclocked but they didnt even put cpu cooler in it.

For 42000baht for gaming pc get something like this

i5 3570k 7000baht

cpu cooler hyper 212 1000baht

extreme4 motherboard - 4000baht

8GB ram 1600mhz 2000baht

some nice custom gpu hd7970 - vapor or sapphire 15.000baht

dont know what is 10/100/1000 LAN but every motherboard comes with ethernet network already

and else what you have choosen already is fine

and what adt1980 said trow in some SSD

You can also trow a nice 1080p 23" monitor and still you would not top more then 42000baht,what left trow a BF3 and can of beer.

prebuilt pc-s are worse, much more costly then when you choose part yourself

All my PC's from day 1 so many years ago, even my Laptops have always been AMD...

AMD CPU is a lot cheaper than Intel....... The new Piledriver based AMD FX is faster than the i7 Intel 3770K Processor + a lot cheaper

Just an idea ? worth a look ?

I agree w/ posters above that the proposed config in the OP isn't optimal.

Here you go:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/build-a-pc-overclock-benchmark,3441.html

Take your pick of 3 configurations. Plenty of discussion follows the article.

I used to be a big AMD fan--and I tend to root for the underdog--but nowadays Intel's top dog in the gaming arena--unless you're on such a low budget you can't afford a graphics card (a sad state).

I have got, but getting old nVidia GeForce 9800GT, was the latest when I bought it + and a BIG + was the HDMi connection... not
so common back then..

So what is better these days ? must build a new PC soon.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Maybe you can just use your old card in the new box.

I had a new one built at Banana IT in Paradise Park last October, chose all the parts I wanted and they built it for free.

i7 (only 2-3k more than i5)

8GB RAM (that is plenty and easy/cheap to add more later)

GTX 660 Ti 2GB (this was pricey, about 11k)

Not sure what my motherboard is, basically the above 3 things are the most important. I also got a kick ass jet black case with lots of fans and vents so it stays cool. Whole rig cost about 35k and then got a 23 inch 1080p HD monitor for 6k.

My rig plays the following games without breaking a sweat and they usually auto adjust to the high settings:

Battlefield 3 (still the benchmark game for graphics in my opinion)

Batman Arkham City

Far Cry 3

Skyrim

Arma 3

I checked the specs for Crysis 3 the other week and I will be able to play that on high settings too :)

the most important thing these days except for a descent graphics card: buy an SSD harddisk, this will make your system so much faster, even with lower memory and CPU settings!

First of all, the price and setup they gave you is a complete garbage ripoff(won't run GTA5 decently even in the lowest settings), avoid that shop.

Don't EVER take a Geforce with a low second digit 630 (or 530, 730). Anything less than 5 will really suck on a desktop (but acceptable for laptops).

When taking Geforces, get the highest second digit you can afford.

Personally I'd go for a 770 nowadays, or a 760 if you have to save more. If you find a good price, a 670 will be fine as well.

Also get yourself 8gb of ram (2x4gb sticks) instead of 6gb. Actually 6gb doesn't makes sense because you would end up with 3x2gb sticks losing the dual ddr function (it has to be pairs, 2 or 4 sticks)

And finally, SSD instead of HD (or both if possible). A HD as a main storage will slow down your computer a lot.

In a few words, my recommendation:

Z77 motherboard, like this: http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/motherboards/asrock/z77-extreme4-socket-lga1155-z77-4-x-ddr3-4-x-sata-6gb-s-4-x-sata-3gb-s-atx-p011509/

CPU 3770, by your apparent knowledge I am assuming you won't overclock, so a 3770k is unnecessary http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/cpus-processors/intel/core-i7-3770-processor-8m-cache-up-to-3-90-ghz-ivy-bridge-bx80637i73770-p009213/

You definitely want a standalone CPU cooler in Thailand: http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/fans-heatsinks/thermaltake/contac-29-bp-cpu-cooler-clp0588-p004261/

Geforce 760 http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/video-cards/gigabyte/nvidia-geforce-gtx760-2gb-gddr5-oc-gv-n760oc-2gd-p015962/

8GB ram http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/memory/g-skill/8gb-2x4gb-ddr3-1600mhz-non-ecc-dimm-xmp-sniper-f3-12800cl9d-8gbsr2-p009364/

PSU http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/power-supplies/corsair/cx-series-modular-cx600m-atx-power-supply-80-plus-bronze-600w-cp-9020060-na-p015971/

Case is up to you, just get a decent brand, example: http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/computer-cases/cooler-master/k380-mid-tower-computer-case-usb-3-0-rc-k380-kwn1-p013599/

120gb SSD for system: http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/solid-state-drives-ssd/samsung/120gb-2-5inch-ssd-840-series-mz-7td120bw-p015789/

1TB HDD for storage: http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/internal-hard-drives/western-digital-wd/wd-caviar-blue-1tb-sata3-6gb-s-3-5inch-7200rpm-64mb-cache-wd10ezex-p009968/

CD/DVD: http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/cd-dvd-burners/lg-electronics/gh24ns-supermulti-24x-dvd-rw-sata-drive-bulk-p006425/

Keboard/mouse up to you, this one is ok and very inexpensive: http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/keyboards/logitech/classic-desktop-mk100-w-thai-font-p003148/

Card reader: http://www.invadeit.co.th/product/computer-accessories/apacer/ae501-embedded-card-reader-p001078/

All parts above sum around 39k, and will perform WAY better than the rig offered to you for 42k. In Pantip you might get a discount if buying many parts at the same shop (my favorite shop there is m2power on 3rd floor).

These parts will contain all you need (except monitor and speakers, which you didn't mention), everything will be there: Lan and sound included.

Fairly serious rig, be a shame to skimp on the keyboard. Just nothing like an good illuminated mechanical, say a Razer (Invadit has a variety, or claims to have).

Why not overclock the 3770K?

Without any problems u can simply change in bios just 1 setting and you'll be going 4,0-4,1 with ANY (incl stock) cooler without problems for many many years.

Don't go for a h77 board, even if you for whatever reason don't want to overclock. Go for a z77 around 3500b and you be fine.

As for gfx, go for the new 760 gtx, 770 is also fine but you can better save some cash on ssd as the overall performance will be HUGE compared to any hdd.

Good luck!

Ps. Gta5 not out yet, how can u mention that?!?!

I don't know what are the minimum specs to run GTA V decently, but I'm 100% sure that a 630 (that the shop recommended him) will totally suck at it.

Like some guys above already said. Post at tomshardware and / or anandtech and some helpful souls will give you usually great advice. This way I got my last couple of computers. Then run around Pantip / Fortune and look for all parts and in the shop where you buy most, let them assemble it for you.

Built it yourself and use the parts you really like. It is simpler than anybody thinks.

For 40 k you can get a dream machine, with better specs than the ones you quoted. Banana it, bib computers and invadeit have good prices.

I have done that last year an am still very happy with that decission. These ready built machines always had something I did not like.
