BANGKOK: - Thailand's Science Ministry said that it has succeeded in manufacturing fast and precise devise to test for bird flu virus.

The devise came in two categories. The first is reserved for veterinarians to conduct tests inside the lab. The second is developed more simply for chicken farmers' use. However, these kits can only detect the virus but cannot identify the strain of virus.

Tests using the above devise show results of high precision. It takes three days to yield results instead of eight days by currently popular facilities. Each kit of the devise sells for 190 baht while an imported version of the same facilities costs between 800 and 1,000 baht.--Enditem
