Need Therapeutic Massage Referral

Featured Replies

I love Thai massage but for injuries and back pain I prefer a deep tissue massage. In the States I saw a massage therapist who would deal primarily with physical therapy patients. Hoping to find something similar here. Anyone have any suggestions? Esp dealing with neck/back pain. Thanks.

Seesip: I recall not too long back on here someone looking for similar "master" therapists and I think 3 names were refererred; search back or wait for the names to be mentioned again.

You are quite right to look for a specialist; dont even think to go to a regualr massage therapist, most are not trained in specialty deep tissue massages and will do you more damage.

Your typical therapeutic massage encompasses a variety of techniques such as deep tissue massage, Swedish, medical and sports massage most of which you need to search for.

back and neck problems are not to be messed with.

Only recommendation I can give is Thai Massage Conservation Club at 9 Ratdamri Road, about 50 metres west of the five-way intersection/roundabout on Santitham Road. Ensure you get Khun Ut (the owner). It is also preferrable to take an interpreter with you if you do not speak Thai. He is often away so phone ahead (in Thai).

Mr Ut himself seems able to perform miracles although it will cost you B300/hr and is often quite painful! I had a back problem myself which years of Western treatments failed to fix. It took Khun Ut five hours over three sessions and that was a year ago. Still perfect (touch wood!) and he has said that as long as I don't do anything stupid it is a permanent fix.
