I Just Screwed Up With A Visa, So Now What Is My Best Option? ]

Featured Replies

I have just screwed up on my Two Month Double Entry Tourist VISA.

I used the first entry plus the one month extension, and it expires on Mar 20 2013. What I didn't realize was that I had to leave the country before the date it says on the VISA (Mar 16), not March 20.

It is now March 17, which means the second part of this double entry VISA is lost.

My only option now is to go to another country and apply for a Two Month SINGLE entry Tourist VISA, and hope they give it to me.

I've been thinking either Penang or Vientiane.

What do you think is my best bet? Which country do you think is most likely/unlikely to grant me this VISA?

Here is my record of stamps on my passport.

I am from Australia, and I am in Bangkok at the moment.

Dec 4 2007 - 30 day stamp

July 19 2007 - 30 day stamp

---------

July 20 2012 - 2 month tourist VISA, SINGLE entry, extended for 30 days (Issued at Penang)

Nov 15 2012 - 30 day stamp

Dec 17 2012 - 2 month tourist VISA, DOUBLE ENTRY with entry one being extended for 30 days, and entry two a fail due to expiry date of Mar 16 2012 (Issued at Vientiane)

Go to Vientiane Laos they will give you a single or double TR almost guaranteed.

Savanaket, Laos is very easy if You are close, or can fly from Vietiane or Bangkok cheaply, double entry should be easy for You.

The 16 March date appears to be the date the first entry expired.

If your visa from the consulate says something like 'use before 20 March 2013', you still have time to use your second entry.

You might have to pay for overstay, a day or so, depending on when you actually exit the country.

Since visa validity starts on date of issue it would not be possible for the visa to expire on the 20th.

A 60 day entry plus 30 day extension would be 90 days which is the same a visa validity.

I guess I read those dates backwards.
