Beautiful And Quiet Island Fro 2 Weeks

Featured Replies

We and another couple would love to go to one of the islands in about 7 to 10 days and want to stay about 2 weeks. We are looking for a quiet, non touristy island with comfortable bungalows, not necessarily right on the beach or with AC. We want to eat lots of reasonably priced seafood and have access to a kitchen or barbecue so we can cook some of our own fresh fish meals. We are looking to pay between 700B to 900B per couple based on at least a 14 day stay. Any suggestion or personal recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hmmm...lots of options out there. Koh Tao is extremely touristy, so not sure that's your best bet. But it is a nice island. Also, you are getting very close to Songkran. Just be aware of this as transport will be packed.

There are also several places on the mainland that might suit your needs. Bang Saphan. Ban Kruit. Beaches near Chumpron. Ao Khanom. Beaches in Chantabuti. These places are not that touristy and prices will be quite a bit lower than on some of the island.

I've not been, but heard the islands down near Satun are quite nice.

There are literally thousands of island around Thailand, catering for all needs. Some of these islands have both touristy areas and quiet areas, so the choice is enourmous. There are so many choices and I doubt that any member would have seen all the islands even if they have been coming here for 30 years plus.

I suggest that you look through some of the reports in the Travel forum and make your choice. There is a really great report with photos of Koh Mook that was posted in the last week.

As the previous reply states you will be hitting the highest of the "High Season" due to Songkran so prices will not be cheap.

Islands you might want to consider are: Koh Lanta, Koh Yai Racha, Koh Samed, Andamand Islands etc etc.

It would be good if you can post a report about your trip once you return, have a great trip!

Why does it have to be an island at all costs? There are a lot of lovely non touristy mainland beaches. There is a string of small beach resorts between Chumporn and Hua Hin, like Bang Saphan Yai, Bang Saphan Noi, Ban Krut, Thap Sakae and Sam Roi Yot. Or try Khanom or Sichon in Nakhon Si Thammarat province. You are not the only island seeking couple, islands tend to become touristy more quickly.
