please can you tell me :

Why do you think a white person go to Thai restaurant oversea !

Mean someone living in Sydney will go to a Thai restaurant with some friends ?

Is it because it is fast ?

Is it because less formalities with entry and main course ?

Is it because it is cheaper as compare to other ?

Is it because they can share more easy the food ?

Is it to try sometime different ?

Is it for Thailand nostalgia ?

other ?

:o thank

We visit a nice Thai restaurant in the UK because we like the food. It does not taste like the Thai food in Thailand, but it's still good. They tend to make the food milder, a bit more fragrant, less spicey.

However, to most farangs it's just another restaurant to go along with the Chinese, Greek, Italian, Indian, etc, etc...

These two would get my vote.

The latter in my case. :o

Is it because it is fast ? No

Is it because less formalities with entry and main course ? No - most people overseas order courses and the menus are arranged that way too.

Is it because it is cheaper as compare to other ? Not especially

Is it because they can share more easy the food ? No. Again, most people order western style each to their own.

Is it to try sometime different ? Perhaps

Is it for Thailand nostalgia ? Could be, if you've lived there before, or have a Thai spouse yearning for home food

other ? Surely "other", somewhat straightforward: because they like Thai food (assuming the restaurant is good of course :o )

:D thank

Forgot to add: I had a passion for Thai food even before I had visited the country - and tasted the real thing...

Haven't ate any Thai food in US which is authentic yet, but my friends love it though. To me all Thai food here tastes like "unauthentic spicy chinese food which prepared for americans". Blessed their hearts, When we go out they think they're doing me a favor by trying a different fake Thai restaurants :D. They even ordered "Singha beer" to accompanied the meals just to make it a bit more authentic :o . H_LL, I assumed just to order Buffalo wings and (1) bottle of Corona.

I´ve been to a few thai rest. oversaeas. Nostalgia. Completely.

Unfortunately, although they may be good, they are horribly expensive, and never quite what I used to get from my noodle shop for 15-20 baht.

One loves Thai food, therefore he/she goes to eat Thai food where he/she can find it. (not a hard concept)

Off course , you do not go to a restaurant if you do not like the food ! i do not go to big mac or chain place !

I've been to 3 decent Thai restaurants in Sydney. All around Bondi beach area. All were pretty good and run by Thais. When i went to two of these i spoke Thai and the service i got after that was great. The other one was when i lived in Sydney in 98 before i could speak any Thai. This was my first taste of Thai food and i loved it ever since.
