PATTAYA:--Pattaya Police arrested the Chinese Owner of an illegal gambling den located in Soi 7 off Pattaya Second Road early on Sunday Morning and confiscated 10 machines which offered players the chance of winning tokens which can then be exchanged for cash.

An undercover officer went inside the Casa Games Shop and was able to play on one of the machines and exchanged winning tokens for cash which contravenes Thailand’s Gambling Laws.

This must be one of those quality tourists from the great country which the current administration is attempting to substitute the shortage of big spending western european tourists to replenish the coffers of a system which due to the rampant corruption and excessive greed means the system must continue to grow at a rapid pace or face inevitable collapse.

But as this story demonstrates, even people that dont have white or black or brown faces commit crime. It isn't just a western or African desease.

What colour skin does a Chinese person have then?

He might have been from mainland China or Taiwan but this sort of gambling is rife in Malaysia and Singapore among their Chinese communities and equally frowned upon by authorities.

Gambling Den? Was the police commissioner also laughing his pants off when his spin doctor came up with the idea to rename a gaming shop a gambling den because they found a slot machine too? And nobody had any idea till the upstanding men on duty did receive their envelope too late

You do not see the BiB wielding sledge hammers, so assume these machines will be in service somewhere else tonight, probably a back room down soi 9.

The machines are not illegal. Winning cash is illegal.

You can play those machines as much as you like, just as long as you cant exchange the tokens for anything of value.

My guess is the Policeman lost a bunch of cash and wanted payback.

Winning cash? What about the national lottery?coffee1.gif

Winning cash? What about the national lottery?

That is run by the government and hence is legal. A private lottery would be illegal, as is a casino.
