Passenger Bus Accident In Northwestern China Kills 5, Dozens Injured

<p>XI'AN, CHINA (BNO NEWS) -- At least five people were confirmed dead and several more injured in a passenger bus accident in northwest China, local authorities said Friday.

<p>The passenger bus was carrying 36 passengers when it overturned at around 12:40 p.m. local time on Thursday. The incident occurred near a tol station on the Fuyin Expressway in Binxian County in China's Shaanxi Province.

<p>The county communications department placed the death toll at five, adding that 30 others were injured, the state-run Xinhuan news agency reported. Of the injured, five were reported in critical condition.

<p>Emergency teams rushed the victims to the Xianyang Central Hospital and the Binxian County Hospital. Authorities launched an investigation into the case, but the cause was not immediately known.
