Daysailing In The Area

Recommended Posts

Will be spending some time in the area in April with family. Would love to spend a few afternoons dinghy sailing (we just don't have enough of it in Chiangmai! :o )

Hope someone can tell me about availability, type, costs, etc.

How are the prevailing afternoon winds this tme of year?

Organized events?

Lessons for kids?

I suspect it is similar to what one can find in other resort areas outside of Phuket, but any info is greatly appreciated.

Just south of Hua Hin there's a small sailing club on the other side of Pranburi. You could rent dinghy's, hobie's etc, guided or non. They had instructors giving lessons on hand last time I was there but it's been a couple years since I last popped in. Maybe someone could provide an update?

Also, the modest Hua Hin Regatta 2006 is coming up Aug 2cnd to 6th, held at the Royal Naval Yacht Club
