Thai Mortgage

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Me and my wife are thinking of buying a house in Jomtien but we do not have enough in savings. My wife is Thai and we live in the UK, my wife has done so for last 5 years, and we both work full time.

Are there any other ways of purchasing a house ie, a Thai mortgage? Are there any finance deals on houses?

Thanks

SCB normally require income with taxes paid in Thailand as they do check with tax office to confirm income. It can be a long process upto 3 months befor you receive funds. It seems to be a grey area with posters saying different criteria. Best you get here and try all lenders to see what they say but the underlying criteria seems to be a taxed salary paid into a Thai bank. L&H gave some good deals at present. Altough not udeal as it restricts your choice a new development are more laxed with where money is earned

why dont you raise a loan in the UK (ie personal loan), far less hassle and your interest rate may be lower than UK.

Banks lending money generally like to see someone actually having a presence in the country you are trying to buy in...A bank in Thailand will determine you are a high risk and would suspect you have a next to zero chance of getting a mortage on a property, unless of course you have a realtive in Thailand who would be prepared to stand the loan in their name
