Khao Yai National Park --- Also Traffic Jams?

Featured Replies

Hi, we all heard about or have seen the traffic jams in Pattaya or Hua Hin over long weekends.

I wonder if the same is true of Khao Yai NP. I hate thinking of being there, seeking untouched nature, and being stuck in a traffic jam.

Has anyone been there lately? Is it jam - packed, campsites full, the jungle trails and warerfalls over - run with the new BKK "outdoors - crowd" ?

I have good memories from a loong time ago.... Just wonder if it is still worth going??

Unfortunately the weekends at Khao Yao are exactly as you described, traffic jams and overcrowded. My wife and I have been camping there for many years and we have found if you go there on the weekdays it's quite enjoyable. Avoid the weekends at all costs!

Agree with Spaniel, weekdays are fine, weekends are full of coaches with BKK tourists armed with cameras shooting everything in site.

There are more hotels and restaurants to choose from these days and prices to boot.
