Hi together!

I am a little bit confused. I am 32, German, will live and work in BKK for over one year. I will have a residence permitt.

Now my question:

My wife and kid will come from time to time. The will not stay the whole year in Thailand. They arrive now in May for 4 weeks, ok no problem to stay up to 30 days without visa.

But then, they will come in october for a longer period to Christmas and then in January again for some months.

What should i apply for them?

Because of the great knowledge here, i think it is not a problem to give me advice.

Thank you very much

A tourist visa should be ok, for the beginning. This allows them to stay for 60 days and can be

extented at the local immigration office for another 30 days (Baht 1900)

Non-immigrant O (visit husband/father) would allow a stay for 90 days on a single entry-visa.

For multiple entries can be issued with a validity up to 1 year, allowing 90 days' stay for each entry.

Thank you Axel!

For their first stay, 9th of may till 6th of june, they do not need a visa, right?

No problem markwoolf. Arriving May 9 + 30 days would mean June 7, just on time.

(Assume they hold EU-passports to be allowed for the 30-days tourist exemption-stamp.)
