Looking For Audio Files For All Thai Consonants

Featured Replies

I'd like to have audio files for all words in the Thai alphabet (chicken, egg etc). Preferably as Anki flashcards. Has anyone compiled this already?

Youtube.

Plenty on App Store for iPhone or iPad, some excellent by the way, also for Android of course !

I need it for an Anki deck so I am looking for audio files split up for every word. And I've checked out all the apps in the Android store and none of them do what I want them to do.

You can split them up yourself. What I would do is get an audio from somewhere like youtube. http://learn-thai-podcast.com/archive/the-thai-alphabet-video/

record the audio or download the video then convert it to mp3 audio only. Then open it up with an audio editor such as Audacity, a free program you can download from CNET. Then split them up and save them as individual files.

example:gaw gai.mp3

That was exactly what I was planning to do, but I wanted to see if someone else had done it already. But you are saying Audacity supports splitting up the files and cutting out the pauses between automatically? Because I would like to avoid having to do that manually for each consonant.

I don't think Audacity will do it automatically, you might have to spend 10 minutes doing it yourself.

Turned out Audacity did do it automatically. Analyze > Silence Finder.

Cool. Nice to know :)
