I've been reading here and on the web about the double entry tourist visa.

Can members here please confirm I got it right:

Say I was issued a double entry visa on June 1, and the visa expires on September 1.

I enter Thailand on July 1, so that should allow to stay nearly till the end of august.

I then leave Thailand, say mid August, and return. Now the second visa "kicks-in" and allows me to stay up to another 60 days?.

TIA

You can stay that 60 days and extend for another 30 days - if you enter the day you receive the visa you can also extend your first stay for almost 30 days before making the visa trip for second entry before expiration for another 60 days and 30 day extension - so in total almost six months stay with two extensions costing 1,900 baht each.

If the visa expires on September 1st

You must use the 2nd entry on or before September 1st

If you try to enter and use it on the 2nd of September ... you will not get 60 days

You will get 15 if you enter by land ... 30 if you fly in
