Burned Out Luxury Cars A Mystery: Nakhon Ratchasima Police

The parties involved have been caught with their pants down and now they come up with all kinds of BS to cover thing up..

Yeah this is getting funnier by the day. Must be a bit of a dilemma for the Thai police. Either look really really stupid by saying they cannot figure out who owns the cars, or risk pissing the owner off by publicly stating who it is. If the owner is a rich businessman, should not be a problem. However if the owner is a political figure making a chump change salary, it will be hard to explain why he has a 40 million baht car... I love this place !!!! Look for this story to fade away pretty quickly. :-)

i for one dont think they meant lpg, there`s no room for a lpg tank on those things as they are, you`d probably have to tow it,lol, but a strange one this story, got to be easily tracable these cars, or bought with cash by drug barons, who knows, be interesting to hear the outcome,

For the record and everyones imagination the red car is a Ferrari. These cars were on the way to Sisaket in a bunch of 19 cars & these were heading to Sisaket from Bangkok to receive new tabians as they could not be registered in Bangkok. 2 Lambos the DSIR cannot find which made it & now gone into hiding. The Head of the Sisaket Reg Dept has "gone" as Bangkok Reg head sent in an investigation team so don't believe the fantasy stories Thais are saying to hide the fact. Cars landed without tax etc had registration problems in Bangkok when its repeditive Companies involved on the importing. So one can pay up country to have them registered and this has been going on for ages [ in fact for years] but this time as the cars are exotics, made headlines, the can of worms was opened. DSI have the details of the importation of these cars as theres around 18 people involved using companies they have pegged. Customs, LPG fitters etc involved in this Sisaket case. It has certainly opened Sisaket people eyes up as its the talk of the town but in fact its nothing to do with drug dealers, over border crossings etc???

In all the DSI has found 21 provinces have been doing this racket. 2253 cars were reported in Nonthaburi Reg Office being the worst Province. Saraburi 1046 cars No 2; Bangkok 891 cars & so on. The DSI has a record of all the imported cars all 5832 vehicles not just the 19 in this case with these tabians coming into Thailand & the owners or those Companies who brought them in in the last 2 years. In fact theres actually 823 Mercedes, 281 BMW,s 511 VWs, and 596 Mini coopers that have entered without tax on the current list,

Back 12 years ago in Chiangmai you could get a bike imported without tax & in parts, reassembled & pay 30-40,000 baht for a new tabian depending who you dealt with? The worst thing was exporting bikes/cars & the exporter was keeping the old tabian & on selling it with your name on the reg so be careful?? Back in those days you may remember all the politicians who got caught riding around in Jags & Porsches--- same deal as I was offered the leftovers in Chiangmai for a song to re-export when the heat hit the fan & the cars needed to be "lost". Again all were exotics when the fan hit! So its nothing new! Hope this relieves all the anxiety of why these cars went to Sisaket? How do I know----- ????

Of the total duty and registration 75% of it is to customs.

So, if the cars are in the country, someone in customs got paid all the import duty presumably in Bangkok port and customs.
