June 11, 201313 yr Hi everyone i hope there are people here who can help me. Last year i had a Jaw and chin surgery. My Jaw and chin was too big so i gone to a plastic surgery in bangkok and they made a shape contouring of the jaw and chin. After surger and after month and even now after one year my underlip and chin is numless and also my underlip is hanging in wrong direction. It looks like my underlip is more in the right side and it looks abnormal. Also i have problems with eating cause it feels with every moves that someone stretch my mouth in the other direction. A friend said that could be the mentalismuscle but he is not sure. if it is the mentalismuscle it could be repairable but a new operation would cost me again money. i was here in chiang mai at a hospital specially for plastic surgery to ask for a medical report so that i can go to a lawyer with that. But here they said they dont write medical reports. It seems they are afraid or i dont know why they dont write a medical report. I dont know really what to do and also i dont have an idea to what lawyer i can go. I already called and consultated the doctor who did that malpractice to me. He said he dont know how this could happen. He is sorry. Thats all. After my second calls and many other calls they dont take the phone if they see my number. Does anyone know what i can do? In facebook i heard from 3 other european patients that they had also problems but in other ways with that doctor. Can anyone help me? I live since 1 year in chiang mai but i dont know which way i have to go and what i can do now.
June 11, 201313 yr If you are in Chiang Mai. I would recommend you go see ORTHOPAEDIC (Bones/Joints) Dr Sudhee Sudasna Part time at RAM (two days/week) 053 920300 He is at the Ram hospital. He will give you an honest evaluation. He is semi retired and does very little surgery now but he is well respected in the profession.
June 11, 201313 yr In addition to post#2: Don't know if the following applies to plastic surgeons. The principle government oversight body of the medical community in Thailand is the Thai Medical Council. Statistics are kept concerning doctor misconduct and there is also a complaint procedure. In cases where a patient claims that they were a victim of medical malpractice, the Thai Medical Council will first investigate the claims against the doctor or doctors in question in order to determine, in their judgment, whether malpractice did indeed occur. The council may then advise the police as to the necessity of a criminal investigation. An example of a legal practice who specialise in plastic surgery malpractice. The major issue would be enforcement of any penalties; the dreaded appeals process that can take years in Thailand. http://www.thailand-lawyer.com/medical-malpractice.html
June 11, 201313 yr First to state it clearly I am NOT a doctor; but as you mentioned the mentalismuscle please Google if this nerve could be affected too: TRIGEMINAL NERVE
June 12, 201313 yr I'm going to go against the tide here and say 'you reap what you sow' . Why in the world would you go in for plastic surgery? Prior to your procedure, did you get an evaluation by an orthopaedic specialist who recommended that you alter the natural shape of your jaw/chin? Was this for medical or aesthetic reasons? Som nam na..
June 12, 201313 yr Was this for medical or aesthetic reasons? Som nam na.. Try to read the post. The post gives every indication that this was cosmetic surgery.

He needs to be stopped before more people suffer and lose money for nothing.
June 12, 201313 yr in most cases, you go to the same doctor , might fix it (or make it worse) and give you 10% discount on your new bill
June 12, 201313 yr unless you looked like the elephant man you get what your born with im afraid,i wana look like david beckham, but it aint guna happen, anyway over here you still vely hansum man,,,,,,,
June 12, 201313 yr You need to find a oral and maxillofacial surgeon (very specialized) here in Thailand. They speciallize in the head, neck, face, and jaw. They will also have a much better understanding of the anatomy in that area as compared to a gerneral or even an orthopedic surgeon. I'm sorry for you. Good luck.

Varun, do you have ANY Friends in the World?
June 12, 201313 yr Instead of calling this doctor who did the surgery, why are you not going and see him. Confront and let him see what happen.
June 13, 201313 yr Hang in there and search for a good option, I think you will be able to restore some normalcy soon!
June 13, 201313 yr Author The operation was a must and not an aesthetically thing. I made the operation at dr.chettawut in bangkok. I already was there and confront him with the result. He said he don't know how this could happen and he don't think it's from him. But I had only operating with him. After I call them again they don't take my phonecalls if they see my number. Or his secretary say the doc is not there.

Som nam na.. Why the hate? Self loathing can be corrected. The guy needed corrective surgery, maybe made a bad choice regarding Doctor and is asking for advice. The suggestion to see a specialist for a professional opinion is a good one. Good Luck John. Hope it works out.
June 13, 201313 yr Best of luck getting it fixed and if not remember your mind adapts to anything given time you will not think about it.

June 17, 201313 yr Author I was at neurologist Hospital today. They Said they think the nerve is damage. When i Said what can i do. They say nothing. Accept it. And what is with the doctor who done this to me. They Said can Not make nothing. Is this really True ?
June 21, 201313 yr I can tell you that my research says that 80% of law suits in medical malpractice in Thailand are won. I am now going through a similar situation (nose job & eye lift) with Bangkok Plastic Surgery. All I can tell you is Google Malpractice Lawyers Bangkok or better for you Chiang Mai and start talking with them and ask for their statistics in wining law a suits.
