Also a great restaurant across the road from Promenada, over a lake not a river but excellent food and good value in a nice setting.

If it's the place I think you mean, they dug up the lake today.

 

Was worried then! Just checked, they filled in the lake next to the mosquito infested brothel of a karaoke/restaurant closer to Wat Don Chan, the one I mean is at the lights where the road to San Kamphaeng hot springs meets the middle ring road, south west corner.

And just how do you know the brothel is mosquito-infested? 

I went once for food and appeared to be more irresistable to the waitresses than ever.

On second thoughts, maybe I was irresistable, maybe it wasn't what I thought.
