PATTAYA:--A 22 year old man allegedly stole 80,000 Baht’s worth of gold necklaces from an East Pattaya Gold Shop on Saturday Afternoon following a fight with his girlfriend over borrowed money which she demanded back to pay for school fees for her two children.

Khun Jatuphon was involved in an argument with his long-term girlfriend on Saturday Morning over 52,000 Baht which he borrowed from her to invest in machines for his Laundry business. She now wanted the money back to pay for the school fees.

Khun Jatuphon could not afford to repay the money so decided to storm out of their home on Saturday and commit the theft at the Lan Tong Banyar Gold Shop in Soi Neun Plub Wan. He was caught on Security Cameras at the Shop being shown a selection of gold necklaces. Seconds before the theft took place he was inspecting two necklaces with a combined value of 80,000 Baht. Before shop staff could react he ran out of the shop with the gold and jumped on his motorbike and sped-off towards the railway line.

OK. So?

At least no one in the shop was hurt

Why do these guys always get caught so quickly?

The cop's thinking, 'the missus would probably like this one'

Guy doesn't looked too cashed up, surprised they would let him see that much gold and not ask to see the money first.

Also surprising these shops don't employ more security, like buzzer doors to control entry and exit.

The crossing Nernplubwan/Bypass Road is probably the #1 tourist trap in Pattaya, nowhere else is police this often. And now they caught a real criminal.
