I need to get a taxi around 5.30am from Dusit area near Vajira Hospital, going to Phaholyothin Road, near the Major Cineplex... I know traffic will be light... Any idea of cost...

Whatever the cost.....pay, pay, pay. Don't argue...just pay...or you may well get sliced into little pieces.

    Does it really matter you have to pay whatever it is anyway. Just tell the driver meter only and pay the meter fee. Don't be so damn cheap Elvis.

    Well as I live beside Major it depends on what way the driver takes you. I always elect to that the tollway near Suk 1. Go towards Din Daeng get off on Viphidwi (sp) rd (sounds like 'wee paw a dee') Then follow that road till the Ratchadapisek turn off go on it there is a massive U turn there. Max cost due to trafic with the tollway would be 150 baht

    Thanks. Not a matter of being cheap. If it was going to cost around 400/500 Baht I could get dropped off the evening before and stay in one of the hotels off Phaholyothin Road...as I need to be there before 6.00am...

    At that time of the morning you might have a difficult time finding a taxi. Why not call and arrange a taxi ahed of time to pick you up at 5:30. It cost an additional fee, but may be well worth it.

    Hotel right beside Major called Samuii it's between Mehang the pub on the cornder and Major. If you want go there Clean rooms not big but with AC for about 600bt a night. My buddy stayed there before and liked it.

    Who to call ? I'm having a tough time finding a taxi service that will be at my condo at 5:15AM tomorrow morning, and then out to the airport. $600baht ?! I usually get out there for $300baht or less. Am I off base ?

    Call any of them and make arrangements. They are always at my place early when I have an early flight to catch.
