Border Run - 1st Time

Featured Replies

Hi

I have to make my first border run soon from Bangkok and am not entirely sure what to do.

Help please!

Thanks.

Google jacks golf

Sorted

^ Jack Golf no longer in business due to decline in demand. It was taken over by his former employees but I believe they only use minibuses departing at 5.00 a.m. now

Probably the best now is ' Thai Visa Run '

I used them a couple of times and were o.k. although the owner is a bit miserable and blunt. I think they still use a big coach but best to phone and book first. Don't try a DIY job to Aranyaprathet ............... too busy. If you want to do it yourself best option is to head for Mae Sot and stay overnight there before heading back. Makes a pleasant trip.

I've the above trucking's post) and these guys:

Never had a problem with either of them, never seen either use a big coach, despite it being advertised. For the sake of 1900 baht you're much better off doing it with professionals, especially if it's your first time.

It's an early start but at the border it's about an hour turnaround and you're on the way back.

Get a flight to KL

Go to immigration get your passport stamped.

Don't leave the airport, go to customs and get your passport stamped.

Get on the same plane back to BKK.

Sorted.

What's the cost of flying to KL?

(approximately)

Thanks.

Depends on the deal if you book in advance you get a good deal, if you want to fly tomorrow it will be not that cheap.

Just have a look at their website http://www.airasia.com/ot/en/home.page

When you book be carefull with all the ticked boxes. They will get you extra insurance / premium seats if you don't "untick" the boxes.

Good luck

Think I'm gonna go with the van from On Nut for 1900 baht. Seems fair.

I'll save the air trip for when my triple has expired.

The stamp is for the 24th. Tomorrow (23rd) is still a public holiday so not sure if to go there in the hope that they are running or just wait until the 24th?
