Lpg valve saver fluid ?

Featured Replies

Is there an alterative to buying the lpg valve saver fluid which is added to the reservoir tank in the engine bay, which does seem expensive at around 1200 baht per liter, can you use molly slip or two stroke engine oil or some other instead.

Thank you in anticipation.

Tom

Tom,

For a long time I used 4l of diesel mixed with 500ml of 2T oil. Only because the 2T oil came in 1/2 litre can.

Taxis use or used to use 2t oil but the viscosity is wrong, hence the diesel.

So far done 140,000 kms.

You need one of these. Name not important about +/-1500 baht or less from a LPG station or installer. Comes with a bottle of liquid to start you off.

After installation looks like this

The brass widget on the side is the flow control usually set for 1 litre every 5000-7000 kms or more.

Just how effective are the vale saver kits? Are there any reports of engine damage, even though a kit is being used?

View it as insurance. Is it necessary? Who knows until it is too late.

When you use the flash lube kit, now and then check the out flow cap, it comes loose sometimes and leaks. Happen to me once and lost all the fluid about 450 a bottle.
