In section 6 of the online form it asks "Please provide details of all your trips abroad in the last 10 years."

My wife has had 5 passports in the last 10 years, most of which are full of entry/exist stamps and visas from Japan, Hong Kong and a few other places we have lived. 1 passport was lost and replaced. I estimate there are around 120 trips not involving the UK. Surely they don't want us to list every one of them ? That's too daunting to contemplate......It was bad enough finding all the dates just for her UK travel :(

Just do it!

List them and include photocopies of passports to support the information. They will quickly come to the conclusion that your wife is much travelled!

It is a pain but keep the details safe so the next time it will be at your fingertips!

That question is funny. My wife would be filling four pages of A4 and that's not including our flying a light aircraft in and out of dozens of countries.

We have thousands of pictures to back up our claims.

I'd also be copying your passport entry/exit details.

We travel a lot on a number of passports but I always scan and backup the info in case we lose a passport.

Lot's of people travel a lot for work and leisure so it's no big deal.

good luck on your travels,

I finally managed to compile all the travel details.

Now I have another question: Should we include the old passports as supporting documentation for the application ? I did so for previous applications, but an acquaintance told me today that they no longer accept previous passports with the application and they are likely to be given back by VFS - and instead we should photocopy all the pages of all the passports (it doesn't say anything about this on the form as far as I can tell).

Same thing really. Scan them on to a computer so you can re-print them in future without hassle!

I don't have a scanner, nor easy access to one. But if you could address my question about whether we can include the passports themselves as supporting documentation, as we did before, that would be great.

They still say in their guidlines that you should include previous passports, we certainly did last month and they were returned with the visa.
