khwaibah
GMM wins UEFA 2016 broadcasting rights The Nation August 4, 2013 6:57 pm GMM Grammy on Friday signed a contract to broadcast the UEFA Euro 2016 event from Paris, France. Under the contract, during June 10-July 10, it will broadcast 51 matches via GMM Z platform."Obtaining the license will stimulate viewing demand in the market as well as strengthen the company's wherewithal to compete and thus will help increase revenue and create added value to the company's satellite television business," said Premon Pinskul, chief financial officer. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/business/GMM-wins-UEFA-2016-broadcasting-rights-30211874.html Edited August 5, 2013 by metisdead Supporting link added. ferguston
A GMM box can use your Truevision dish. I'm amazed that Truevision couldn't be bothered to outbid everybody bearing in mind last year's cock-up over the Euros.

LuckyLew
It is all in the numbers I am sre they have it figured out that the money they gain from new subs. and adverts does not make up for such a large expense as EUROs They is no way TRUE will do anything that will not make money sense and the sure as hell will not do anything that would please their current subscriber base. I would like to know how any people canceled TRUE because of the last EURO event and how many cancelations they get with them not having the EPL rights. infernalman7
I think True is going to lose heaps more local customers. But for a non-football fan like me, this is great. True is compensating by increasing their HD programs and licensing with other international content providers. I am a happy man now. Competition is GREAT.
