After 30 years in Bangkok, I wanted to be surrounded by panoramic views, so chose to live 54 km East of town. If I wanted city life I would have stayed where I was. It is an easy drive to town and takes less than one hour, where it took me that long to drive several blocks in Bangkok much of the time.

I would much rather live out here, and see going to town as a bit of an adventure, than have it the other way around. If you ditch the clock and stop living on a schedule then life up here can be very pleasant indeed.

You will be so sad when High Mountain condos builds a high rise upmarket resort in front of your house.
