Re-entry Permit..?

Have seen all the advice you guys have given over the past....can u help me...What EXACTLY does a re-entry permit do or give me..in the past have got a tourist visa..or a non "O"..am 67yrs old...I come twice a year..Aug/Sept for abt 5 wks...then again in Dec for 4 months...would like any help regards a re-entry permit..thanks for any help....

A re-entry permit is used when you leave the country and want to return using the same permission to stay until date you left with.

It does not give you any extra days.
