Award winning university student killed in Silpakorn University brawl

BANGKOK: -- A Silpakorn University student was killed yesterday in a drunken brawl at the school's Sanam Chandra Palace campus outside of Bangkok.

According to Narongdech Chommon, a fourth-year Biotechnology student, Sanam was drinking with a group of students by a campus pond when his group got into an argument with another group of students nearby.

The disagreement quickly escalated into a fight.

When police arrived on the scene they said they found a pool of blood and scattered beer bottles. [read more...]

What a waste......Thais and alcohol are a bad mix.

What the hell,... how many deaths do we have in Thailand so far alone in this week?????

Oh, I see,... domestic violence and Army police mind popping proganda...

A sad waste of two talented young men. I don't know if the relationship between Thais and alcohol is any different than anywhere else, but young people and alcohol can be a really dangerous combination.

The student made a full confession and said he only stabbed Pattrawut once,

oh you only stabbed him once, well that's ok then, here's a slap on the wrist, and dont do it again now back to classes with you.

me i think they are following the examples set by their illustrious leaders. we never get the details about which side of the political divide the youth groups associate but i'm fairly certain that it is a spill over. else its could also be across the Muslim- Buddhist divide spilling over from the south. once again the press see fit to with hold speculation or details. too many incidents to be purely personal friction.

also if you extensively train all your young men in combat skills that is what they will resort to.
