Electric Stove Elements

Featured Replies

Odd request I know however does anyone know where I might buy an electric stove top element or coil in BKK? I tried Chinatown today but came up empty. Searching Google gives zilch results.

TIA

HomePro?

Are you looking for a "hot plate" or a replacement element for an existing stove?

No, I am trying to build a smoker and an electric coil type element rated at a minimum of 1000 watt would be ideal

HomePro should have them. If not, just use a hot plate.

I just smoked some BFT and it's the bomb.

Buy a planer and make your own chips.

I built a smoker too.

Everyone has gone to the covered elements: post-84869-0-26354600-1376804651_thumb.j

I checked dozens of hardware, appliance and home ware stores, including Homepro, Lotus, Big C and Makro. I even scoured Klong Thom!

I finally found a ceramic plate, with a coiled wire element, that does the trick. Surprisingly, the wire has held up!

I found it at a little mom and pop electrics shop. You'll just have to scour around ....

Looks like I am following in your footsteps because I am trying to build exactly what you have already managed to do. A terracotta flowerpot smoker. Yours looks great. I have already ordered a temperature controller through ebay. I cannot see the flowerpots being a problem. I just never imagined the electric coil would be such a hassle. I Was sure I would find one in Klong Thom Market but no. If I can't find one here I will have my son send one over from Oz.

I picked up the pots at one of the garden shops, just west of Or Tor Kor market.
