Patong Language Schools Blacklisted?

Featured Replies

I just heard that most of the language schools in patong have been blacklisted for pupil non-attendance, is this true?

If it is true, what would happen to the status of people that are on Ed visas with a school that was blacklisted? Would they consider it an overstay or just not renew at the end of the visa period?

This blanket blacklist could effect the students who actually attend.

Let's hear what you've heard...

Certainly true that ED visa holders have been subject, in recent times, to closer scrutiny but I have not heard of any schools being "blacklisted"

Is this hearsay (rumour) or is there solid evidence of "blacklisting" ?

As of right now it is heresay from a reliable source. That's why I'd like some more ears to the pavement, or in this case ears to the dirtroad clap2.gifwink.png

Not sure blacklisting would be correct word.

They could have their acreditation pulled by the MOE which would mean no more extensions for the students.

Not sure immigration could refuse extensions if paperwork from MOE was in order.

Believe the problem is associated with "students" who do not study or even attend school !whistling.gif

That would be a reason for MOE action.

There have been reports of Phuket immigration visiting schools during 30 day under consideration they do for extensions now.

Exactly !

So hearsay is a reliable source?
