Not sure I do understand no, you mean view new content and click not yet read? just simply mark those topics as read and they wont' show in that sort

Sorry for being a pain---- screenshot added here to show the selections I am using. The request is to permanently remove a thread that no longer interests me - whether I have read it or not.
