Will I be Able to Exchange These Currencies to Baht?

Featured Replies

I have about 2000 baht worth of foreign currencies left over from a long trip I did several years ago. I am wondering if it is common for most money exchangers to change these currencies. I have:

Croatian Kuna

Egyptian Pound

Turkish Lira

Hong Kong Dollars

Any advice on where I would be able to exchange these currencies for baht? Thanks.

HK dollars not a problem, all bank/exchanger will change to baht.

the rest i dont think most exchanger will touch this part of the world, or for very high commission.

(even in Italy, they wanted 15% commission on Turkish lira, for example).

certainly, if you have coins, changing those better forget outright.

This is kind of what I was thinking. I wasn't worried about the HK dollars. Mainly the others. I do have a bunch of coins as well but I know that those won't be taken anywhere. I think I'll just take all the bills with me and see what I can do. Luckily about half of it is HK dollars.

not worth the hassel

HK$ any bank.

For the others:

IF they will take it- its the private moneychangers, like Super Rich/Vasu. Do not expect great rates as for trade-able valuta even with them. Also probably a minimum value even for notes. I doubt most about EGP-who ever would want to go there now?

How much Croatian Kuna do you have?

Go to super-rich and plead your case. They will exchange anything.

Why does he need to plead his case if they'll exchange anything?

For the future, convert all left over money when you leave. Much easier.

It will up to the money changer to take them off him or not. They might even take them for the fun of having un exchange currencies.

So he has to plead. Ko jai mai khap?

.

Or send them to the nearest red cross box donation box. They will figur out what to do with it.

In the past they used to ask for your left over money on the flights, but they don't seem to bother these days.
