September 2, 201313 yr I know that these random police checks at the bus station have been reported for years, but yesterday Sunday was the first time in 10 years I have been stopped and searched myself. I was travelling from Ko Samet with a farang friend and the bus would not drop us off at Bang Na. So for the first time in over 5 years I travelled all the way to Ekamai. We dashed off the bus to the toilet (4 1/2 hour trip) and then casually walked back round the corner only to be stopped and searched by 4 BIB. Pockets searched, bags emptied, etc.all in the open. Even slipped their hands in our pockets to double check. In their defence the police were 'relatively' polite, and one explained that the day before they had caught and American with a gun. Moral of the story, if you are arriving on a bus with only a few farangs on it on a quiet Sunday afternoon, best thing to do is to make a dash to the toilet and then turn LEFT as you exit the toilet and go round the back of the bus station. Unless of course you enjoy the experience of wondering whether the police will find that left-over viagra tablet, or undocumented prescription drug. PS I had various pills and potions in my medicine bag but nothing was too closely scrutinised.
September 2, 201313 yr Your lucky the police didn't find the effects of the viagra tablet when they slipped their hands in our pockets to double check. I know a farang here with a couple of guns. The idiot does not know the first thing about how to handle it. An idiot and a gun a bad combination. Edited September 2, 201313 yr by uty6543
