BMA encourages citizens to go by a self-sufficient economy model

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is laying down a policy to encourage people residing in the capital to go by a self-sufficient economy model.

Mr. Thanom Ornketpol (ถนอม อ่อนเกตุพล), the BMA Deputy Spokesman, revealed that Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayothin is ordering the city administration to draft plans to encourage the city to run on a self-sufficient economy model.

Mr. Thanom stated that the BMA was also toning down on large scale projects in order to conserve funds, which can be allocated more to district offices in order to improve the standard of living of local residents.

Mr. Thanom added that the BMA was also looking into solving the problem of flood water accumulation in eastern parts of the city, and that a solution will be formulated shortly.

Sounds like a post-Songkran clear-as-mud announcement from the BMA. Guess they're trying to implement HM The King's "sufficiency economy" recommendations to the capital city rather than nationwide. Get ready for some amazing announcements!

exactly how could the BMA implement anything nation-wide?

reads like a "we're tightening the belt .. and you should too" press release
