Bought this shaving set in the US, like the old fashion style with a brush that you lather up the foam.

Have a glycerin type oil you put in your face first to let the razor glide better.

Results were astonishing - never has such a smooth shave in all my life. So deep, you can see little craters that the hair follicles have retracted into the skin. Have to be careful not to cut my skin which I never had before

They have a vitamin C creme style aftershave, which they claim is better ( restores the skin oil, and not like alcohol based aftershaves )

Really like it !

( I can't use electric anyway, get skin rash )

This may or may not be out of place, but does anyone know where I can buy a conventional shaving brush and mug in Thailand ?

Thanks in advance for any information

You can't buy a good shaving brush or a specifically designed shaving mug in Thailand. You can buy a crappy little brush, almost a joke really, at some beauty supply stores and supermarkets such as Best in Pattaya. It does work: you find these being used in older, traditional barber shops. A cappucino cup makes a decent mug.

Best thing to do is import. Have them sent by regular mail, not courier, and you'll likely not have to pay customs fees.

If we're lucky the Fusion brigade won't show up to sneer at your obsolete, unfashionable, old man shaving practice.

But congrats! You've made a remarkable breakthrough. There's a whole international wetshaver's forum--one of many--here: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/forum.php.

gentlemen shave wet! period.

gentlemen shave wet! period.

I was 16 when my Dad bought me a really good badger hair brush.

Sadly it got lost, but I can still remember swirling around the soap dish and the feel on my face.

I was told just recently of a modern wet blade, with multiple blades actually, that is also battery operated and the blades vibrate and both people spoke of it in the most glowing terms, smoothest shave ever.

They also said the blades lasted a really long time.

Bought in the UK.

Photos/source anyone?

A couple of years ago I undertook the task of learning to shave with a straight razor. You can't compare this shave to anything, the shave will get so close it's scary. I only use a straight razor now. It required a little tinkering during the initial learning period, but after about a month and a number of cuts I got pretty good at it, and my routine takes about 5-6 minutes now.

I buy all my stuff from theSuperiorShave.com who also provided lots of info and advise during my learning time.

You can watch his routine here:

My best advise to anyone who wants a good shave is PRORASO Pre-Shave cream. If you're attempting the straight razor or stick with a normal Gillette or similar doesn't matter, the pre-shave cream makes all the difference. If you haven't used this product before, prepare for a wow-sensation.

I just use my Gillette, but as u said, the pre-shave cream and the shaving cream make the difference

I agree, the results are surprising
