AYUTTHAYA, Sept 15--- More than 100,000 methamphetamine pills were seized and four suspects arrested on Sunday in an crackdown on illegal drugs in the central province, while some 250 kilogrammes of compressed marijuana were confiscated in the northeastern province of Nakhon Phanom.

In Ayutthaya, a combined force of 506 police officers led by Pol Lt Gen Nares Nonthachote, commissioner of Provincial Police Region 1, raided a number of targeted sites in the province for drug suppression.

The operation was conducted after authorities had arrested drug suspects in Wang Noi district, seizing an AK-47 assault rifle, and were informed that they were a part of the trafficking network run by drug convicts in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Klong Phai Prison.

Following a police raid on a house in Bang Pa-in district, police confiscated 140,000 meth pills and arrested Natthawat Tingchairot, 34.

In addition, the authorities also arrested three other drug suspects--- Chaiyuth Natworatat, 32, Wassana Paopang, 22, and Arisa Kingngern, 27--- with 28,000 meth pills and a tablet pressing machine.

In Nakhon Phanom’s That Phanom district, seven suspects were detained with 252 kilogrammes of compressed marijuana, valued at Bt5 million, and two pickup trucks were confiscated.

Pol Lt Col Chonatat Tiemnak told a press briefing that the detainees said they bought the illegal drug from a Laotian drug dealer in order to sell to customers in the southern province of Satun. (MCOT online news)

Run by drug convicts - it has been suggested in posts on this site that Farang biker clubs handle all the drug trafficking - this report must therefore , surely be wrong............... or was the dipshit that made the post about Farang Biker clubs wrong ?
