samran
Hi All, My wife has been offered some part time work at one of the international schools here in BKK. She's here on a non-O extension based on marriage to a Thai husband...ie me. Long story short, the school said while they are happy to provide the paperwork for a WP, they aren't able to pay for the processing (ie their general WP lawyers cost them 10K a pop). Fair enough, given we are just talking about part time work here, and I'm pretty sure we can process the paperwork outselves, if we have all our ducks lined up in a row. I just need to know what ducks to line up. I was hoping the guru's here could perhaps walk me through what we'd need given we already have the extension of stay sorted. Basically need to understand: - What documents does the school need to provide? - What documents does my wife need to provide (she is a qualified teacher)? - Where do we go for the WP? - What are the admin fee's? - What are the steps to apply? - Is there issue her being on a non-O extension of stay? I seem to recall there has been issues with getting a WP on this in other provinces. Does this also apply to BKK? Thanks in advance.
CWMcMurray
I can confirm no problem in getting WP on the back of extension of non-o for living with Thai spouse in Klong Toei, Bangkok (as this what I have) Wish I could help you more , but understand that for the rest, rules may be different for schools than private companies Sent from my iPhone using ThaiVisa app
Mario2008
Fee is 3,000 for the WP for 1 year and 100 baht for the application. Best drop by the labour office to get the correct forms. Both she and the school need to sign some of the papers. She will need a Thai teaching license or waiver.

She did all these courses at her old school years ago to get the license, but can't recall if she finished the course or now.
Mario2008
The waiver can be applied for at the Teachers Council of Thailand. http://www.ksp.or.th/ksp2013/home/ She can apply in person at the office in BKK and pick it up in a few days or have it send to her by EMS. If she wants to email, email the Foreign Relations Unit, they deal with the foreign teachers and are quick in replying.
Arkady
Have to apply at the Dept of Employment at the Labour Mininstry HQ in Dindaeng. Docs required are here in Thai and English http://wp.doe.go.th/joomla_wp/index.php/2013-07-25-03-44-08 under ตท.1 . Note the additional documents required from a school. It is not too difficult to do by yourself and anyway you have to go in person to collect a new WP. Don't forget the tertiary syphilis test - a new requirement since 2009. Primary and secondary syph are OK but standard tests can't distinguish what stage it is at! LOL.

Just took a look at the form (Teaching Permit Without License Form - http://site.ksp.or.th/home.php?site=englishsite). The seem to require a non-immigrant B visa. Is this a hard and fast rule? Could you also explain a bit more about the concept of teaching without a license? Is it a temp thing, or can it be used indefintely.
